Biography

Nicolas Besson began his career as a bond trader at Unigestion in 1994, before becoming assistant to the head of the trading department at Republic National Bank of New York in 1998. He joined Darier Hentsch & Cie in 2001, initially as an analyst and bond fund manager and later in 2005, he became global co-Head of Fixed Income for the LODH group. In 2008, he joined the private bank’s discretionary management team as a Bond Manager, developing dedicated bond funds and managing multi-asset mandates. His career continued at HSBC, where in 2009 he took over responsibility for bond management and strategy in Geneva. After a brief stint in Private Banking at Credit Suisse, he joined REYL & Cie in 2015 as Head of Fixed Income and Senior Portfolio Manager. He was appointed Deputy Chief Investment Officer in 2020 and Chief Investment Officer in 2022. 

Education

Nicolas Besson is a graduate of the University of Geneva (Master’s in Economics, 1993) and of AZEK (federal diploma in financial analysis and portfolio management, 1997).
