The 16th April 2018: The helicopter dropped us at 5,475m, our base camp’s altitude.

The helicopter dropped us at 5,475m – our base camp’s altitude. With the beautiful weather and after several rotations of carrying
supplies, we were able to really appreciate this unforgettable flight.

Our pilot is called Rrya, and she is the first female helicopter pilot in Nepal! These first few rounds at altitude have been favourable
for us. Hats off to her for brilliantly completing multiple landings on the mini helipad at base camp!

I only retrieved my bags this morning and I was able to start setting up after choosing a place for my tent yesterday. A view of the
mountains, far enough away from the kitchen to avoid the early morning noise, but not too far from the dining tent! If the sun is with
us tomorrow, I’ll hopefully be able to wash my hair…
